Shipping Policy
How we handle your packages, what we charge, and what may not be shipped under Jamaica Customs Agency standards.
The following list is based on Jamaica Customs Agency standards. Prohibited items may never be imported. Restricted items may only be imported with a valid permit, licence or approval from the relevant authority. SwiftPort Logistics will not accept prohibited items, and restricted items without documentation may be seized by Jamaica Customs at the customer's expense.
Prohibited items
- Narcotics and other dangerous drugs
- Counterfeit currency, coins and forged notes
- Counterfeit or pirated goods
- Indecent or obscene prints, publications and articles
- Explosives, fireworks and flammable materials
- Base or counterfeit articles of gold or silver
- Prepared opium, pipes and smoking utensils for opium
- Any item declared prohibited by the Jamaica Customs Agency or other competent authority
Restricted items
- Firearms, ammunition and parts — Firearm Licensing Authority permit required
- Prescription medication and pharmaceuticals — Ministry of Health authorisation required
- Plants, seeds, soil and agricultural produce — Plant Quarantine permit required
- Animals, animal products and meats — Veterinary Services Division permit required
- Alcohol and tobacco products — subject to licensing, duty and excise
- Lithium batteries and hazardous goods — carrier restrictions apply
- Radios, transmitters and communication equipment — Spectrum Management Authority approval
- Used household appliances and motor vehicle parts — subject to inspection and approval
