How we handle your packages, what we charge, and what may not be shipped under Jamaica Customs Agency standards.
Every registered customer receives our U.S.A. mailing address and a unique mailbox number. That mailbox number must appear on every shipment. Packages sent without a valid mailbox number may be delayed while we identify the owner.
All customers are required to declare the contents of their shipments. Invoices and all relevant shipping documentation must be submitted before packages arrive in Jamaica. Undervalued or undeclared shipments may be held by Jamaica Customs.
Air freight is delivered within 3 – 5 business days of departure from our U.S. warehouse. Sea freight takes up to 3 weeks. Transit times exclude delays caused by customs inspection, weather or carrier disruption.
Air freight is charged based on the weight of the package. Sea freight is charged at USD $20 per cubic foot, while small items sent by sea are JMD $450 per lb plus wharfage.
Estimated customs duty is 40% of the full declared USD value, converted to JMD at the exchange rate used by the calculator. The final charge is determined by the Jamaica Customs Agency and is separate from the shipping rate. Customers will be notified before delivery.
Packages with a declared value of USD $100 or more carry a processing fee of JMD $500.
Proper packaging is the responsibility of the shipper or merchant. SwiftPort Logistics is not responsible for loss or damage before a package enters our network, and liability is only recognized once a package has been delivered to our facility, marked as received, and then cannot be found.
